Effect of fenofibrate in comparison to metformin on the biophysical and biochemical parameters in diabetic albino wistar rats

Introduction: Diabetic endothelial dysfunction is accompanied by increased oxidative stress and upregulated proinflammatory inflammatory mediators in the vasculature. Activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-α) results antioxidant anti-inflammatory effects. Aim this study to investigate effect fenofibrate, a PPAR-α activator, on stress, inflammation its anti-oxidant streptozotocin diabetic rats compare effectiveness FF with that Metformin (Met). Material & Methods: This experimental animal was conducted at house. The sample size included 174 albino wistar divided into 3 Groups, one control groups (C )Diabetic untreated two test .T1 -Diabetic treated metformin 75 mg/kgwt/day) T2 (T – Diabetics fenofibrate 100 mg/kgwt/day), 58 each group (29 male 29 female). All were intra peritoneally state induced. T1 mg/kg/wt/day. Feno fibrate (FF) dose mg/kgwt/day.
